"From August 25 to September 12, 2008 Ruth and I booked through Open-Ladakh the Zanskar Trek from Lamaruyu to Padum. Eight horses, two horsemen, two helpers and our guide and friend Tashi (Tour coordinator of the Company), accompanied us on this wonderful trip. It was perfectly organized from the first to the last day. Tashi is not only an experienced and friendly guide with a lot of knowledge about Buddhism, he is also a great cook! After long days of trekking he spoiled us every day with a great variety of Indian- Ladakhi- or Western food. We had a  relaxed and eventful time with the whole team. We felt like a family.

If you want to enjoy an incredible landscape, meet open-hearted locals, get an idea about Buddhism and be prepared for a 6 - 8 hours hike, then it is a MUST to do the Zanskartrek with Open-Ladakh. These guys really do a good job! Congratulation. We definitely will come back".

To all travellers and wanderers

I had the great opportunity to share time with all of the OPEN LADAKH - team during summer 07 and 08.

The talks, jokes, adventures and steps on the way left an unforgettable imprint.

Viveks inspiring on experience based teachings are like the wake up sound of a clear bell. Pannyas big heart and delicious meals are not just food for the stomach, but also for the mind. Ants smile melts iron.

So don’t waste the opportunity to connect with this jewel on your journey to happiness! Thanks a lot!

Thank you to everyone at Dhamma House for this amazing experience. I won’t even try and explain it since I haven’t figured it out yet.

The thing that I may remember most, although this may change with time is the “chanting farmers”. Every time of day, way up in the mountain, seemingly wherever I was, the “chanting farmers” were also there. It was beautiful to listen to.

Thanks again

Jonathan

I am very greatful for this time in this very special place. A great stillness permeates the house, its surroundings, the mountains and the wonderful warm people who looked after us so kindly.

There is a clearness and simplicity here I only hope I can take a small piece of back into my life.

With warm thanks for the warmth and wisdom.

Katy.

Thank you for a wonderful introduction to meditation. The location and the teaching was great to get me started. I imagine when I get away from here it will be more difficult . so I see myself returning to move deeply ingrain meditation into my life, many thanks!

Thank you so so much to everyone at Dhamma house for a such a really amazing opportunity and life changing experience. Although I found it very hard sitting in one position, I will remember many of the things I have learnt forever. I loved the trek (this is the most beautiful place in the world) and I especially enjoyed the discussion with you vivek on Sunday night. Thank you for being so patient with my doubts! Thank you to all the family for delicious food and making us feel so welcome. Anon, you are without doubt the most adorable child in the world – good luck in Bollywood.

With love and thanks
